The principle of Educational Justice is not a recent promise for Alok Mohanty; it is a battle already fought and won. Before the current election cycle, Mohanty cemented his resolve by taking a firm stand against the rampant commercialization of education by private CBSE schools in the region.
When private institutions arbitrarily inflated fees and forced parents into mandatory, costly purchases, the community was being looted. Mohanty, then a leading voice for the NSUI, did not settle for protests. He led the community to the point of an Indefinite Fast (आमरण अनशन), forcing the administration to confront the injustice. This action secured vital relief for countless families and proved that Shri Mohanty will not compromise on the rights of the common person.
This fight is now enshrined in his campaign agenda:
Resolution 1: Establishing a Nagar Parishad English Primary School. This resolution directly addresses the issue of affordability. We are moving beyond protesting high fees to creating an accessible, quality alternative right here in Ward 13.
The determination shown during the fast is the same determination that will secure the funding and land required for this vital project. We encourage all voters concerned about the rising cost of schooling to read the full 8 Resolutions and support this mandate.
